The COVID crisis is a dynamic, ever-evolving situation. It can be confusing, especially when we consider how it impacts a life app. When a prospect tells you that he or she has recently recovered from COVID, it should prompt you to dig a bit deeper. Key among your questions is: How was it treated and do you have any current symptoms?
For current consideration, any positive COVID history has to be fully recovered prior to applying.
For COVID treated at home, they’ll allow consideration 30 days after resolution of all symptoms….no APS required.
For COVID treated at a hospital:
- General admission and treatment, no ventilation or ICU: It’s likely Lincoln will postpone for 2 months from date of discharge, and they will want an APS.
- ICU or ventilation: This will result in a postpone for 3 months from date of discharge, again, they will want an APS.
If any persistent symptoms after treatment (long hauler syndrome), Lincoln looks at each case individually to see if any offer can be made.
